Person to Person Ministries’
2008 Hillsboro
Family Camp
July 28th – 31st
Registration Packet
February 20, 2008
Dear Family Campers,
On October 2, 2007 we were paid a visit by the Highland County Health Department due to an inquiry made to the Health Department concerning one of our camping policies. As a result of this meeting, we are now being required to obtain a temporary license for the week of Family Camp. We also found out that we have been in violation of the law for 16 years, and they have graciously decided not to pursue fines against us. The Health Department is working with us to make Family Camp a safe and enjoyable week for everyone.
However, in order to comply with legal codes, we must make some changes and additions to our policies that will affect us all. These changes, although costly, will bring some positive changes to your week of camp. They will affect camping lots significantly, as well other areas of our campgrounds, facilities, and policies. We ask for your patience and cooperation as we do our best to implement these changes.
Enclosed you will find several items that need your attention. Included in this material is a new registration form that must be filled out and mailed in along with your registration fee. Please read all of the information before completing your registration form. You will be asked to sign your name acknowledging that you have not only read all of the forms, but that you and your family (group) are going to adhere to these policies.
We are also asking for your help. As a result of these changes we will need to invest over $25,000 in our campgrounds to begin this process of bringing things up to code. The Health Department is working with us, but it is our responsibility to meet the codes and abide by the law.
We appreciate your help and cooperation in this process. We ask that you pray for us, the ministry, and each other that this process will go smoothly and allow us to be more effective in ministry.
Yours thru Jesus,
Kerry Allen
Executive Director

Registration Information
Please read the following information concerning registering for Family Camp. It is important that you read this information due to the fact that there have been many changes made from years past. Your attention to this will help us in making sure your registration is processed in a timely manner. Failure to fully complete a registration form will result in the registration being returned for completion.
1)
GENERAL INFORMATION:a)
Camp Lots: All camping lots must be registered under an individual’s name and no individual can register for more than two lots. Registration fees can be paid by the church, but for emergency and safety issues, we must know who is camping on each lot.b)
Church Youth Groups will need to fill out a different registration form included in this packet. A youth group must have an adult for every 5 youth.c)
You will not be guaranteed your lot from last year. Although we would like to continue this policy, we just can not guarantee that your lot will even be an approved lot for this year. We will do our best to put you in the same lot as last year, but we just cannot make that a guarantee at this point. To comply with legal issues we have to make several changes in the lots which will result in losing lots.d)
In order to have a chance at the lot you had last year, your registration must be postmarked by June 9, 2008. No exceptions will be made!e)
No phone registrations will be accepted except during the week before Family Camp.f)
All campers must check in when they arrive at the campgrounds. We will have someone on duty from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. starting Friday July 25th through Monday July 28th. If you arrive before Friday or after Monday, please come to the office to check in.g)
Absolutely no parking of campers before checking in, you might find it an inconvenience to move your camper/tent after you have set it up. It is important that we get you in where you need to be and how you need to be so that you won’t have to move later.h)
Lot confirmations will not be sent. You will be informed of your lot number when you arrive at the gate.i)
You must send your money with your completed registration form before we will honor your registration. Any registration that is sent in without payment will be returned and vice versa.j)
Motor home lots will be assigned only to those having motor homes or large 5th wheels. If you have had a motor home lot in the past and are no longer bringing a motor home, please note that on your registration form so that we can assign that lot to someone bringing a motor home.k)
Dump Stations will be closed when you arrive! We will no longer allow dumping at our dump stations upon your arrival. We cannot handle the number of people using the dump stations when they arrive and then before they leave. This is taxing our system and thus we must put an end to this practice.2)
REGISTRATION COSTS:Due to the changes we have had to make, the continual cost increases for water, electric, and maintenance and the cost of upgrading electric and water as people bring bigger and bigger units, we are implementing a new registration cost starting in 2008. Your cost will depend on the size of camper you bring. Costs for Family Camp are subject to change from year to year.
a)
Tents, Pop ups and other portable units (non self-contained) - $35.00 per lotb)
Recreational Vehicles (self contained) up to 30 feet - $40.00 per lotc)
Recreational Vehicles (self contained) 31 feet and above - $50.00 per lot

SECTION IV: PATROL AND PENALTIES
There will be a designated group of volunteers during the week of Family Camp tasked with patrolling the grounds and aiding in the overall security of the event. Security Personnel’s camp sites are designated by an Orange Flag and they will be wearing an orange button. Their main concern is the safety of all who attend our event. FRS radios are used by security and they can be reached on channel one. Please keep off this channel, unless you have an emergency situation.
If you are willing to serve on the security team during the week there is an organizational meeting on Monday at 3:00 p.m. at the Resource Center.
1. It is important that you follow all directions given by security personnel.
2. The camp rules are to be followed at all times. If there are any concerns with the regulations please discuss them with the Trustees, not the Security Staff.

5. Adults will be asked to correct their violations immediately, if there is any debate as to whether or not there is a problem, it should be discussed with the Trustees.

1. GENERATORS are allowed but must be used in accordance with Section II, #6 of the Restoration Acres Campground Policies and Guidelines above. 2. NO PETS! Make arrangements to have someone care for your pet while you are at Family Camp. This rule has been in place for several years, yet more and more people have chosen to ignore it. Please don’t put us in the position to ask you to take your pet back home or to a kennel. See Section II, #6 of the Restoration Acres Campground Policies and Guidelines above. 3. NO BICYCLES, SKATEBOARDS, SCOOTERS, or other such toys. No four wheelers or other means of transportation are allowed. Handicap scooters are allowed. You can bring golf carts, but they will be required to follow the same rules as automobiles and can only be driven by licensed drivers. 4. NO UNLICENSED DRIVERS are allowed to drive any vehicles on the campgrounds.
There are other guidelines as noted above in the Family Camp Registration Packet. We appreciate your desire to make everyone’s week more enjoyable by following all of the guidelines. |
